Compang was built in the middle of the village, composed of stone shaped altar. In the middle, there is an upright stone as a symbol of the cosmic marriage between heaven and earth.
In Manggarai myths, some Compang in Manggarai were built by spirits (land) as in Compang Cibal and Pacar. There are large stones that are rationally difficult to lift by human burden.
